Once all your research and optimising is complete, the only thing left is to submit your website.
Its the first step in letting the World know about your new website.
In the beginning, you had to manually submit your site to all the search engines, but this wasnt a difficult task as in the early days, the search engines needed your site listed, now, its a different story.

Many so called search engine optimisation companies will offer to submit your website to 1000 search engines for $50, to do this they simply use auto submit programs, they just enter your website details and click a button.
How many good search engines can YOU name? certainly not a 1000 or 10000, the other problem with this is that your website will be added to many free for all (FFA) search engines, these accept submissions and often rank your site at the top for a while until the next auto submissions arrive, then you drop, and drop.
Another problem with this is the fact that your email address will be sold on and ultimately, you will be inundated with spam.

So hopefully by now you have decided against the auto submission idea and realised that it will achieve nothing in terms of getting your site any credible listings.
It simply is a waste of time and definately does you more harm than good.
The major search engines want your website listed if its of any quality, provides a good product or service, and you have somewthing to offer its visitors.
